Finally the aluminum ladder is gone. Replaced by this lovely part-bought/part-reclaimed wooden one. I sanded it down after we finished it and it gave me a lot of joy to know that we made something ourselves. Time to get the ball rolling.Also here's a photo of the main space, just because.
